Het Schepershoes is a B&B in the English style: small-scale, homely and personal. And, of course: an extensive - mostly organic - breakfast with freshly baked rolls, yoghurt, fruit, fresh juice, honey from our own beehives, and not to forget: farm-fresh eggs from the local care farm.
You will literally and figuratively 'hit the hay' in one of the two luxury rooms, each with its own bathroom, on the upper floor of our listed Saxon farmhouse in the Drenthe countryside.
You can enjoy an evening meal with us, provided you indicate this when making your reservation. Hostess Rinette cooks vegetarian as you wish, but also with meat (for example from our own Mangalitza free-range pigs) or sustainably caught fish. All ingredients are organic and/or responsibly produced locally.

Het Schepershoes is a stylish place for those seeking rest, walkers, cyclists, golfers, riders, garden enthusiasts, nature lovers and culture enthusiasts. However, it is also certainly suitable for families with older children or business guests.
We, Rinette de Jong and Alexander Sluijmer, are happy to welcome you warmly. Our farmhouse is located in the village centre of Peest, 2 km from Norg, 10 km from Veenhuizen, 15 km from Assen and 25 km from Groningen. The location is quiet with mainly local traffic and passing walkers, cyclists and riders. Around Het Schepershoes there are several stork nests, so that storks can be heard both during the day and at night clapping their beaks. Het Schepershoes is easily accessible by public transport. Even on weekends.
B&B Het Schepershoes is very small-scale and therefore NOT a hotel! It is only possible to book for a minimum of two nights. Staying longer is of course also possible.....
The prices of our rooms include: a very extensive and almost completely organic breakfast, coffee & tea in the room, tourist tax and VAT. There is nothing more to add, unless you take something from the minibar or if you eat with us in the evening.
Het Schepershoes is completely smoke-free indoors. In the garden you can smoke, provided it does not cause any disturbance.
Bringing pets is unfortunately not possible. Our dog Tijger is very friendly, but only comes to say hello if our guests appreciate it.
In the summer you can enjoy lovely walks on our 2.5 hectare grounds on the other side of the road. And of course also in the wider area.
Breakfast is served on the ground floor (*). If the weather permits, the table is set outside under the carport. Guests rave about the extensive and varied breakfast with, among other things, freshly pressed juice, farm-fresh eggs and honey from our own beehives. If you want to spend a day in Schiermonnikoog or at the TT circuit, so wake up early, we'll prepare a well-stocked 'breakfast-to-go' for you in the refrigerator the evening before.
(*) Very occasionally it is not possible to serve an extensive breakfast. In that case we will always discuss the offered alternative with you in advance.
